MountGuard
One button. Total silence.
Your network security software cannot see what plugs into your USB port. MountGuard can. When protection is enabled, no removable storage device mounts on your Mac. Not a USB drive. Not an SD card. Not an external SSD. The moment you step away, your data stays exactly where it is.
One toggle. Complete physical access control.
Block Storage
One toggle blocks all removable storage from mounting. Enable it and no USB drive, SD card, or external SSD can connect to your Mac.
Auto-Restore Timer
Need to allow a device temporarily? Set a timer from 5 minutes to 2 hours. When it expires, protection re-enables automatically.
Event Log
Every mount attempt, block event, and state change is logged with a timestamp. Export as plain text or clear at any time.
PIN Protection
Set a numeric PIN to prevent protection from being disabled or MountGuard from being quit by anyone with brief physical access.
System Notifications
Get a notification every time a drive is detected and ejected. Always know when something attempted to connect, even when away from your screen.
Launch at Login
Enable Launch at Login and MountGuard starts automatically after every restart. Your Mac is protected from the moment it boots.
Install once. Step away with confidence.
01
Install and launch
MountGuard installs via PKG installer and places a shield icon in your menu bar. No dock icon. No main window.
02
Enable protection
Click the menu bar icon and toggle Block Storage on. The icon and status card turn blue. All removable storage is now blocked.
03
Set your PIN
Open Settings and set a numeric PIN. This prevents anyone with brief physical access from simply turning protection off.
04
Work normally
Your keyboard, mouse, audio interface, and display keep working. Only removable storage is blocked. Everything else is unaffected.
MountGuard blocks storage. Nothing else.
